Built in 1754 on unoccupied land at the time, the bailiwick of justice is one of the last works of the Marquise de Pompadour in her reorganization of the village. The building forms a U-shaped plan, with two wings back to the garden forming a courtyard. The main facade has a central front-body surmounted by a triangular pediment. Inside, the bailiwick included lounges with parquet floors and fireplaces. Paintings by Vien, currently preserved in the United States, completed the decor.
