The current lighthouse(headlight) is lighted(switched on) since 1835, of a height of 37m, it indicates the road to be followed to enter the narrows of Brest. Electrified in 1937, it is automated in 1996\. This lighthouse(headlight) is one of the very first establishments of signalling built as part of the first network of lighting of the French coast(ribs) the set up at the beginning of the 19th century. He(It) joins the continuity of diverse established fires(lights) successively for the 15th century on the abbey of Saint-Mathieu.
