This theater, built by Jean-Marie Laloy, was inaugurated in 1888\. It has been abandoned since 1975\. It is a rectangular building, of medium importance (400 to 500 seats), but bearing witness to a monumental concern: the facade, located in the alignment of neighboring houses, stands out for its imposing appearance and its very Beaux-Arts architecture, with bossage, Corinthian capitals, pilasters, friezes, curved gable pediment with ornate tympanum. The interior decoration betrays this concern to create architecture despite modest means: it is inspired by the classical decor of theatres of the time (dark blue, garnet red, gold), but treating everything almost exclusively in paintings, and without large mythological and allegorical scenes. From this point of view, it is a real tour de force, and an undeniable success.
