Parc et jardins du Château de Lanniron
Allée de Lanniron 29000 Quimper
Located on the banks of the Odet, the Lanniron Estate was for more than six centuries (from the twelfth century to the French Revolution) the summer residence of the bishops of Quimper. Transformed into a Palladian residence in the nineteenth century, the castle overlooks the French gardens designed in the seventeenth century descending into terraces towards the Odet. They include a remarkable botanical collection established in the 19th century by the ancestors of the current owners. After suffering, the gardens are now being restored. It remains to reconstitute twenty symmetrical squares and two basins on the terraces as well as the statuary of the gardens so that they regain their former splendor. You will already be able to admire six vegetable gardens presenting old vegetables, you will also discover the sumptuous basin of Neptune which hosts the tides.
