Fort de la Justice Since the beginning of the year, the association «Les jardins du fort de la Justice» has gradually taken the military edifice out of oblivion. The exterior of the site, which was overgrown, was gradually cleaned up. The ultimate goal is to create gardens and to welcome local artists to showcase this previously neglected heritage.Built in 1831 from the limestone found on the site, this fort can accommodate up to 400 men and about twenty cannons. The latter responded to an emergency: the protection of the city following the sieges of 1813, 1814 and 1815\. It occupied the northeast flank of the entrenched camp. It was in 1842, with the construction of the Vallon gate, that it was connected to the nearby Miotte fort.
