The Contemporary Arts Centre The Consortium, managed by the association the Corner(Place) of the Mirror, is active since 1977 and obtained the label Arts centre in 1982\. His(Her,Its) objectives are production and exhibition(exposure) of contemporary works, enrichment of public heritage in this domain, promotion(class), distribution(broadcasting) and training(formation) in art as in thought of today. The Consortium also joins an approach(initiative) of reflexion and of experimentation in the field of cultural engineering and administration of cultural and artistic initiatives bound(connected) to Living Arts. Deeply bound(connected) in the middle associative, The Consortium finds its origin in these currents which, during 1970s, found the ways(means) to act(behave) and installed(settled), in the heart of the urban fabric, alternative(alternate) structures conceived(designed) as forces of opposition and independent places of word. In 1977, Xavier Douroux and Franck Gautherot between other one melt the association The Corner(Place) of the Mirror and settle down on the first floor of an alternative(alternate) bookshop. They are joined in 1983 by Eric Colliard (died in 1995). The same year, associations The Corner(Place) of the Mirror, In limit and already Seen group together in the same entity. Together, they develop a critical reflexion on the place(square) and the role of art. Their first actions(shares) came true with the anti-authoritiest artists towards language or of the way of making the art, as Daniel Buren, Olivier Mosset, Niele Toroni, Claude Rutault, Christian Boltanski, Annette messenger, Jean Le Gac, John Baldessari, Bertrand Lavier, Urs Lüthi, Cindy Sherman, Gloria Friedmann En 1996, Eric Troncy includes the arts centre as co-manager, followed by Anne Pontégnie, Stephanie Moisdon and Seung-Duk Kim who join the management team. The collection of the Consortium, rich in more than 300 works of a hundred of international artists – mostly acquired at the very beginning their career(quarry) – had made recently the object of a donation in the city of Dijon, management of which will be confided(entrusted) to the TAIL COAT(FRAC) Bourgogne. Inaugurating so, by means of the Museum of Fine Arts, a relation favoured with the Dijon community in its will of development of contemporary heritage.
