The Saint Sylvain Chapel in Nevers was accidentally rediscovered at the end of the 20th century. Dating from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, it presents a rare set of medieval paintings, mainly false ochre apparatus very varied, but also wall paintings on the bedside wall depicting the holy characters, including Saint Sylvain, painted by a Sienese artist in the 14th century. La Chapelle Saint Sylvain presents a permanent collection of contemporary works by great French artists including François Morellet, Claude Lévêque, Claude Viallat and Claude Parent.
