Visit of the Thil Fortress
The Romans installed an oppidum on the hill on which stands today the Fortress of Thil. One of the daughters of Charlemagne would have built the current fortifications in the shape of an ellipse In 850 the lord erected an apparatus in small rubble: the keep (current tower of habitation) in order to protect himself from the Norman invasions. From the 9th to the 15th century, Thil was constantly enlarged and modified, increasing its residential qualities while retaining its defensive prerogatives.
