Wash house of the village: test strips of gaskets and lime coatings
On the interior wall of the left gable wall of the wash house we can discover five "witness" strips resulting from an initiation course in the implementation of lime joints and coatings organized in 2017 by Maisons Paysannes de Saône-et-Loire and the Association de sauvegarde et de mise en valeur de Saint-Clément-sur-Guye. From left to right, the participants made a visible stone coating, a scraped coating, buttered joints, a fine taloché coating (fine curl) and traditional joints. Cartels placed under the "witness" tapes are used to inform visitors about the techniques used. Thus the owners of houses or other old buildings can be inspired by the "recipes" proposed by Daniel Besson who supervised the course and wrote the cards.
