As part of the event «Heritage written» in Burgundy Franche-Comté on the theme of the body and on the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2022, are presented two valuable works:
- Anatomical plates of the human body by François Antommarchi, executed according to the natural dimensions, Paris, Brégeaut, 1826.
François Antommarchi (1780 or 1789 – 1838) is a doctor, born in Corsica, and remained famous because of his role with Napoleon I in Saint Helena. Indeed, it was he who carried out the autopsy and took the imprint of the emperor’s death mask.
- Descriptive and comparative anatomy of the typical mammalian cat in general and carnivores in particular, from Hercule Straus-Durckheim, Paris, to the author, rue Copeau n°4, 1845.
Hercule Straus-Durckheim (1790-1865) was a philosopher, mathematician and naturalist born in Strasbourg, to whom he left 240,000 francs to support the blind.
The books will be presented by Pascal Brunet, Head of Heritage Collections of the Libraries of the University of Franche-Comté at 10 am and by Ghislaine Gaultier, Project Manager and Cultural Mediator in the Arts and Culture Department at FC University at 3 pm, tissot room.
