Door Open of the archaeological site Inrap
In 2021, a series of archaeological surveys carried out by the Inrap at Marigny Castle in Fleurville revealed the presence of a rich Gallo-Roman villa whose floors in the residential part were decorated with at least two mosaics, one with black and white geometric decorations, the other with floral decorations dated to the end of the 1st century.
In January 2022, a second diagnosis on a plot near the castle confirmed the important dimensions of the villa and the location of its entrance. This intervention also revealed the previous establishment of a Gaulish rural establishment with already affluent status. The archaeological excavation conducted by the Inrap between August and September will enrich the study of this rich Gallo-Roman villa and offer a rare opportunity to discover its remains.
