Departing from the courtyard of the Hotel des Ducs de Bourgogne - Wine Museum, the guided tour introduces the ancient period by joining the statue of Gaspard Monge, on the eponymous square, the occasion to evoke the Egyptian campaign of Bonaparte. The route stops, rue de Lorraine, in front of the 16th century houses to approach the Renaissance, in front of the chapel of the Oratory, then in front of the Saint-Nicolas gate which is a reminiscence of the Roman triumphal arches. Finally, the visit ends at the Théâtre de Verdure, where a major rehabilitation project is underway, to talk about ancient theatres and thermal baths.

Installed(Settled) in the old(former) Hotel of the Dukes of Bourgogne, the museum of the Wine is entirely devoted in the wine-making Bourgogne. The museum relates the history(story) of the Burgundian vineyard across centuries and also that of men(people) who manufacture the country(soil) of the region at the origin of a cultural heritage and of the all over the world recognised wines. The ethnographic collections and the decorative objects reveal this regional singularity. Not to be lacking: very beautiful tapestries, The Wine (1947) by Jean Lurçat and put together(combined) Vineyards(Vines) (1967) by Michel Tourlière, without forgetting presses the from XVIth century till XIXth century.
