A small church of innocuous appearance, Saint Laurent nevertheless reveals itself rich in surprises and mysteries. Thus, under the small canopy towards the «Dead Gate», find one of the last tables of the dead of the Morvan, surmounted by its candle holder in cut stone. A rare example of Romanesque art from the 11th century, its only nave still preserves a bay... and a half in a semicircular arch! As for the left side chapel built around 1501, it houses a small treasure of flamboyant Gothic, with its listed stained-glass window and the omnipresence of the sculpted weapons of Bishop Louis II of Amboise, now the coat of arms of the municipality. This chapel is a geopolitical symbol, marking the hold of a faithful king of France, on the lands of the Comte de Nevers. Do not forget, either, to contemplate its choir, completely restored at the end of the 19th century and covered with woodwork of the most beautiful effect, under the indulgent gaze of Saint Seine, represented on the stained glass window.
