In the heart of Charolais-Brionnais, in Southern Burgundy, Maurice Balligand, an art craftsman, now retired, made weathervanes and finials in copper. He has made a thousand of these roof ornaments that are found in France, but also in Australia, the United States and Norway. He even exhibited a dozen times at the Carrousel du Louvre and at the Salon du Bâtiment, Porte de Versailles and in Geneva.
