Having listed(classified) UNESCO world heritage since 1982, Saline royal of Arc-et-Senans is the head - of work of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux (1736-1806), visionary architect of the Age of the Enlightenment who raised(drew up) the plans of an ideal city(estate): the city of Lime. She(It) also establishes(constitutes) a rare evidence in the history(story) of industrial architecture. Factory was intended(designed) for the production of salt, Saline Royal was created all over the will of Louis XV and built between 1775 and 1779.
Saline Royal worked as an integrated factory where lived almost all community of work. Built arched of circle, she(it) sheltered dwelling places and places of production, that is 11 buildings(ships) in all: the House of the Director, Stables, the buildings(ships) of Salts is and the West, the Clerks(Assistants) is and the West, Berniers Est and West, Cooperage, building(ship) of the Guards and Blacksmith's trade.
Returned obsolete by the appearance of new technologies, Saline Royal closed the doors in 1895\. Abandoned(Given up), ransacked, harmed by a fire in 1918, the Department of the Doubs purchased there in 1927 saving her(it) so from the ruins. Three successive campaigns(countrysides) of restoration(catering) finished(ended) in 1996, restored it its brightness.
The architectural party of Saline royal, his(her,its) history(story) and his(her,its) rehabilitation make a quite unique monument which opens to all public today. Exhibitions(Exposures), festival of gardens, concerts, researchers' residences, animations for the children, colloquiums, innovative experiences(experiments) punctuate every cultural season.
