This castle kept the name of the family who lived on the property at the beginning of the 16th century. From the end of the 16th century until the 20th century it belonged to the Fortis family. In 1863, Tancrède de de Fortis transformed Rossignol into a castle. The family coat of arms had the beautiful motto “Noble as a lion, Industrious as a bee, Just as a scale”.
