Known for its vast ski area, the Espace Diamant, Praz is also a privileged place to practice various activities such as hiking in the summer, including the Grande Randonnée Tour du Pays du Mont-Blanc trail.
It is the only village in the French Alps to have a hot air balloon spot with a specialized airline open all year round. This is due to the favourable aerological conditions of this open and protected alpine valley from the winds.
It is a village of 1,264 inhabitants, which saw its population increase by 25% between 1999 and 2008, and which has preserved its agricultural traditions, offering an open and green valley to visitors. It is also the village of France that has the most cheese designations, seven in total (4 AOC: Beaufort, Reblochon, Abondance and Chevrotin, and 3 IGP: Tomme, Raclette and Emmental de Savoie)! An impressive record that he shares with only a few communes!

The history of Praz-sur-Arly as a municipality is recent. Until then
