The apartment Gagnon, entirely renovated, opened its doors to the public in September, 2012\. It is in this place steeped in history that the future Stendhal saw his years of childhood to his grandfather, the doctor Henry Gagnon. The apartment evokes the life of the writer in Grenoble, his(her) friends and professors, the city where it attends the first tremble of French Revolution. Since the windows of the apartment Gagnon, he is the curious and admiring spectator of this France in full boiling. Before its departure for Paris at the age of sixteen years, it is here that forms the heart and the spirit of Stendhal. The terrace of the apartment, thought "Vine arbour of Stendhal", opens you its doors to make you discover the art of botany exercised by the doctor Gagnon, accompanied with his grandson. Of this terrace giving on the City garden, Stendhal observes the polite society which gives itself to see, and knows its first agitations by admiring Virginia Kubly, young actress. The room(chamber) of his uncle, Romain Gagnon, thought bed and breakfast, receives an unpublished temporary exhibition(exposure), "Stendhal, a Red and black republican", which attempts to show the importance of politician in Stendhalian work.
