Meeting with Bruno Doucey
As part of the temporary exhibition dedicated to Robert Lobet Lobet and his publishing house, the Éditions de la Margeride, the Butor Archipelago offers a meeting with Bruno Doucey.
Éditions Bruno Doucey was founded in 2010 by poet Bruno Doucey – after eight years at the head of Seghers – and novelist Murielle Szac. Their ambition? To open poetry to the greatest number. With nearly 190 titles, thousands of readers worldwide and a growing presence in bookstores, this ambition is more relevant than ever. Their creed? To bring the voice of contemporary poets wherever they can be heard, on literary scenes, but also in schools, streets, prisons, gardens… A tireless field work carried by the conviction that poetry is vital, especially in troubled times. It helps to think, to fight all extremism, racism, fundamentalism and totalitarianism. It unites instead of divides. She speaks the language of brotherhood.
This meeting will also be an opportunity to present the exhibition catalogue entitled Peindre les mots – Gestes d'artiste, voix de poètes. Published in 2022 by Bruno Doucey, this book offers a retrospective of Robert Lobet’s entire artistic career.
