Guided opening of the Baroque church of Saint-Pierre and its treasure
Located in the centre of Séez, the church of Saint-Pierre (12th century) was restored from 1680 by the prior Jean Duclos. It represents very well the Baroque art, a new art from the Renaissance that expresses the Catholic reform in Savoy in the 17th century. It is inscribed in the circuit of the "Paths of the Baroque".
To discover (on a guided tour only), the treasure of the church: pieces of sacred goldsmiths offered to the parish of Séez at the end of the seventeenth century and the beginning of the eighteenth century. Most objects are classified as historical monuments. Among the most remarkable are: a silver monstrance and a censer from the early 17th century, an elegant processional cross from 1664, an altar cross and its chandeliers from 1683 and the reliquary from 1709 with the representations of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, the patrons of the parish.
