The curator, Cédric de Veigy, delved into Kertész’s negatives made in Paris with his Leica between 1930 and 1936 to observe and reveal the creative mechanisms at work in the photographer. André Kertész, Walking in the Image" was co-produced by the Médiathèque de l'architecture et du patrimoine (Ministère de la Culture) and the Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau (equipments of the EPT Grand-Orly Seine Bièvre), with the collaboration of Stimultania (Strasbourg), L'Imagerie (Lannion), the Museum of Photography (Charleroi) and the Fontfreyde Hotel - photographic centre.

At the end of the 16th century, the Fontfreyde family built this mansion, known as the «house of architects». In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the facade overlooking the Rue des Gras was modified. This magnificent testimony of the Renaissance has become a center dedicated to photography.
