The Alter Duo is composed of two musicians who graduated from the CNSM of Lyon and who have at heart to share with the greatest number their common passion for music. Both being recognized pedagogues of their instrument, their performance carries a particular pedagogical dimension that adapts to all audiences.
The program is designed around transcriptions and original pieces highlighting the lyricism and virtuosity of the instrument. These pieces are interspersed with musicological explanations and anecdotes about the instrument. The programme consists of affordable works by great composers (Mozart, Schubert, Saint-Saëns, Massenet, etc.) but also of lesser-known pieces from the double bass repertoire (Bottesini, Glière, Koussevitzky, etc.).
