A fine example of Napoleon III hospital architecture, including the Chapelle Saint-Sauveur in neo-Romanesque style (architect Marcellin Vera) and the galleries that frame the courtyards, the Hôpital Corentin-Celton is today a geriatric structure unique in France, and one of the major European rehabilitation centres.

Built in 1863, this fine example of Second Empire hospital architecture has been completely refurbished. The principle of courtyards and galleries providing good ventilation (in accordance with hygienist theories of the time) has been safeguarded, as well as the old chapel Saint-Sauveur, with remarkable painted and sculpted decoration. The hospital is today a geriatric structure unique in France and one of the largest European rehabilitation centres.
