Discover the mysteries of this castle in the Messian country: Landonvillers.
- Did you say “strange”?
The strange and mysterious fairy-tale castle of Landonvillers will finally reveal all its mysteries! What is the origin of this medieval dream dominating the Lorraine countryside? Often compared to one of the romantic castles of the «mad king» Louis II of Bavaria, or even of Haut-Koenigsbourg in Alsace, this monument is unique in France. Rescued from ruin thanks to the hard work of Norbert and Ana Vogel de Sa, the châtelains will be happy to guide you through their exciting home.
You will learn all about its origins in the sixteenth century, the many noble families that have succeeded each other, the joys and dramas that these thick walls knew. - The museum of ancient icons
During your visit, you will discover the wealth of a collection of ancient icons, unique in Europe. These sacred treasures of Tsar Russia tell you five centuries of spiritual and artistic history. A magical look towards another dimension, with these «windows on Eternity», as we could call them... - The music of the spheres
Norbert Vogel, a passionate musician, will give a mini-concert with each visit on an unknown and very mysterious instrument. Because you play it without touching it! Invented by a Russian engineer in 1919, the «thérémine» will surprise you. Often associated with spiritism in the 1920s and 1930s, it seems to bear witness to the reality of another dimension. - A castle of initiation
John von Haniel, the owner in the 19th century, was a follower of esoteric and occult sciences. He had a rich initiatory symbolism sculpted in the stone. It’s up to you to decipher it! - Information:
