Come and discover the Gallo-Roman site of Nasium at the Maison des Leuques!

The day will include a guided tour of the Nasium site, as well as workshops to immerse yourself in the crafts practised at the time:

Pottery workshops: making an oil lamp
Mosaic workshops with tesserae
Basketry workshops: making a small basket
Children’s excavations will be organized, to try to discover different objects. The site will also host Roman legionaries throughout the day.

Nasium, first capital of Leuques, is located on the territory of the municipalities of Naix-aux-Forges and of Saint-Amand-sur-Ornain today. The Gallo-Roman city of Nasium developed at the end of Ier century av(avenue). J.-C. at the foot of the oppidum of Boviolles, at the level of the confluence of Ornain and of Barboure. Most elements extracted from excavations(searches) are exposed(explained) to the museum of Bar-le-Duc. The site is listed(classified) in conformance with(for) historic monuments.
