2 boulevard du Palais, 75001 Paris, France
Located in the heart of Paris, on the banks of the Seine, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Conciergerie is one of the oldest vestiges of the Palais de la Cité, residence and seat of power of the kings of France in the Middle Ages. Transformed into the prison of the Parliament of Paris towards the end of the 14th century, the Conciergerie remained a high place of detention during the French Revolution with the installation of the Revolutionary Tribunal. Her most famous prisoner is Marie-Antoinette. A commemorative chapel was set up at the time of the Restoration on the site of his cell and part of the visit route.
