During this scientific conference, we invite you to explore the history of the neighborhood through its emblematic buildings.
Today, the district of Cour Saint Emilion is known for its modern buildings, hotels and leisure facilities and its Museum of Fairground Arts. But who remembers that only a few decades ago this area was covered with buildings typical of 19th century industrial architecture? That the Pavillons de Bercy were important wine cellars? And how long ago in the past, sumptuous bourgeois residences stood on these banks of the Seine?
[This conference does not give access to the rooms of the Pavillons de Bercy, to visit the museum, book one of the guided tours at a preferential rate for JEP 2025]

The Pavilions of Bercy, installed in wine cellars dating from the late nineteenth century and registered in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments, serve as a setting for the Museum of Fairground Arts, the Venetian Salons, the Theatre of the Marvelous. These artistic, cultural and museographic spaces are places of spectacle where visitors are the actors of this living heritage. They frame a garden street, unique in Paris, where 25m² of cobblestones have given birth to 1200m² of vegetation. Usually hidden from view, you will discover an amazing natural heritage, both vegetal and mineral.
