Come and discover the Hôtel de Talleyrand, a majestic 18th century mansion built for the favorite minister of King Louis XV, and owned by the Government of the United States of America since 1950! Dive into the history and relive in particular that of the Marshall Plan, whose implementation and coordination were accomplished between these walls. Visit freely the different rooms to get an overview of a typical house from the Ancien Régime, and take a step back in time.
By walking through the Hôtel de Talleyrand, visitors walk in the footsteps of emperors, tsars, kings, politicians and ambassadors from around the world, who have frequented it for more than 250 years. A look at the architecture of the building and the role played by its occupants reinforces the feeling that it is indeed a place intended to serve as a setting for major historical events.

Come and discover the Talleyrand Hotel, a majestic 18th century mansion built for the favourite minister of King Louis XV and owned by the Government of the United States of America since 1950! Immerse yourself in history and relive in particular that of the Marshall Plan, whose implementation and coordination have been accomplished within these walls. Freely visit the different rooms to get a glimpse of a typical Old Regime home, and take a step back in time. The Talleyrand Hotel, in neoclassical style, was built between 1767 and 1769 as a private residence for Louis Phélypeaux, Count of Saint-Florentin. As secretary of state at the king’s house, minister of state, secretary of state for foreign affairs, and personal friend of the king, Saint-Florentin was one of the most influential figures of the reign of Louis XV. In 1812, the house was acquired by Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord. The famous French statesman made it his Parisian residence and one of the centres of French soc
