This exhibition explores the layers of human experience, focusing on motherhood and cultural identity while creating a space for dialogue between memories and emotions.

In this series of self-portraits, materials such as wood, goatskin, and cotton interact, each carrying its own history and memory, weaving together a unique narrative.

"Envelopes of Skin" (Enveloppes de peau) examines the complexity of motherhood and intergenerational transmission. As both a mother and an artist, Myriam Koné felt it was essential to explore the wide range of emotions women may experience in relation to motherhood. Words engraved on wooden surfaces reflect her thoughts, while embryo-like forms dance around and within the portraits, illustrating the whirlwind of emotions and choices tied to this experience.

"Layers of Lived Experience" (Couches de vécus) takes visitors on a journey into identity, with each piece inviting reflection on the hybrid experiences that shape us. The layering of materials and personal histories forms an infinite cycle, symbolising growth and awakening, both individually and collectively.

This project celebrates the beauty of scars and memories, fostering a meaningful dialogue on motherhood, identity, and heritage.
