Musée de la Montagne

Haute-Saône
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
Located in the Vosges Saônoises region, in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges regional nature park, at the crossroads of the valleys of the Ognon and the Moselle, between Franche-Comté and Lorraine, the museum evokes rural life in the mountains, notably the trades of the forest and the wood crafts at the beginning of the 20th century. Installed partly outside, it also presents the activities of the farm, the mill and the forge. The activity of Château-Lambert has long been twofold, divided between mining and agriculture: thus two types of exploitation are presented: copper and molybdenum, highlighting the evolution of extraction methods and tools used. Several aspects are addressed: the working conditions of miners in the 17th century, the history of mining.
