The name “Les Racines du Ciel” comes from a book written by Romain Gary who was awarded the Goncourt prize in 1956\. This book tells the adventure of a Frenchman named Morel, who will undertake in Africa a campaign for the defense of elephants and will risk his life for it. It was when the book was republished in 1980 that the term “ecology” took on meaning. The garden «Les Racines du Ciel» creates a natural, calm and pleasant setting in which to enjoy nature over a cup of coffee. This garden was inspired by the experimental garden Graines Voltz at Brain sur Authion, an open catalogue with more than 700 varieties. With its greenhouse and its two shared vegetable gardens (each employee has his own vegetable garden), the garden offers spaces for rest connected by paths.
The shared vegetable garden won a prize in the National Competition of Vegetable Gardens Edition 2024, the prize was presented by the Société d'horticulture de France. The use of stormwater and roofs equipped with photo
