The heritage of the Catholic University of the West consists of many movable and scientific objects including tapestries, textiles, paintings, important scientific collections (chemistry, physics, geologist, paleontologist, botany, zoology), a chapel from the end of the 19th century as well as a pre-1811 book collection with more than 16,000 works.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Catholic University of the West, enter its heritage reserves, the opportunity to discover the heritage fund of the University Library!
Composed of more than 65,000 works (including 16,000 before 1811), the oldest pieces date back to the 15th century: manuscripts and incunabula. It also houses private collections bequeathed by teachers and friends of the UCO.
Visits are free within the limits of available places. The reception and departure of visits are in the lobby of the Jeanneteau building (entrance via 6 rue Merlet de la Boulaye)
Also to be discovered in the reception hall, activities around the animal and plant collections of the UCO by students from the association ANaturAE and scientific experiments with volunteers from the Heritage Mission.
