The Association for the Defence of Longpont Springs offers a visit to an unknown heritage in Longpont, because it is underground: the network of sources, captured and led to the historic town since the old regime.
The guided tour presents the Regard des Folies (monument listed in the additional inventory of historical monuments), where the water collection gallery arrives. It is preceded by a guided walk (about 1km, accessible to all) on the route of the network of captured springs arriving at the village of Longpont, where water appears in the light.
This visit puts into perspective the history of the creation of Longpont and its development through the integration of its priory in the network of Cluny.
The network of sources still exists today and testifies to the importance of water resources as well as the know-how of its creators.
Departure from the town hall square in front of the Basilica of Longpont on Sunday at 10:30 am. Duration: 1 hour to 1 hour and a half.
No specific equipment required. Lighting provided.

The church is the only witness of a former Clunisian priory founded before 1061\. In 1031 a church was established by guy 1er de Montlhéry and his wife Hodierne de Gometz on the site of a Marian chapel, probably built as early as the 3rd century on a place of Druidic worship. In 1061 it was given to Cluny with the consent of Geoffrey de Boulogne, bishop of Paris, and monks of this order settled there. The construction of the present church was undertaken at the beginning of the 12th century by guy II Troussel. It ended at the beginning of the 13th century with the facade. The basement of the square tower dates from the 12th century and its only floor from the 13th century. The church was elevated to the rank of basilica in 1913\.
