Es ist das letzte Zeugnis des Klosters der Petits-Augustins, das von Marguerite de Valois (Königin Margot) gegründet wurde. Im Jahr 1795 eröffnete der Konservator Alexandre Lenoir dort das „Musée des Monuments français“, das erste Museum, das der französischen Kunst gewidmet war. Er sammelte architektonische Elemente und Skulpturen aus den schönsten Bauwerken des Landes.
Als das Museum 1816 geschlossen wurde, wurden die Räumlichkeiten der École des Beaux-Arts für die Ausbildung junger Künstler zugewiesen.
Im Inneren befinden sich Originalskulpturen aus dem Mittelalter und der Renaissance sowie 400 französische und italienische Abgüsse. Eine nicht minder meisterhafte Sammlung gemalter Kopien italienischer Meisterwerke rundet diese Sammlung ab.
Heute steht die Kapelle im Mittelpunkt des künstlerischen Schaffens der École und beherbergt Ausstellungen, Konzerte, Performances und Ausstellungsaufhängungen.
Die Führungen führen Sie auch in den „Cour du Mûrier“, den Ehrenhof sowie in den „Palais des Études“ mit seinem verglasten Innenhof und dem Ehrenamphitheater.

Relive history in the Chapelle des Petits-Augustins, dating from the 17th century, the oldest structure at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
It is the last remaining vestige of the Petits-Augustins convent, founded by Marguerite de Valois (Queen Margot). In 1795, Alexandre Lenoir, a curator, opened the Musée des Monuments Français there—the first museum dedicated to French art. He gathered architectural elements and sculptures from the country’s most beautiful buildings.
In 1816, when the museum closed, the premises were assigned to the École des Beaux-Arts for the training of young artists.
The interior houses original sculptures from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as 400 French and Italian casts. A no less magnificent collection of painted copies of Italian masterpieces rounds out the collection.
Today, at the heart of the School’s artistic creation, the Chapel hosts exhibitions, concerts, performances, and art installations.
Guided tours will also take you to the Mulberry Courtyard, the Main Courtyard, and the Palais des Études with its glass-enclosed courtyard and main amphitheater.

Vi raccolse elementi architettonici e scultorei provenienti dagli edifici più belli del paese.
Nel 1816, alla chiusura del museo, i locali furono destinati all’École des Beaux-Arts per la formazione dei giovani artisti.
L’interno ospita sculture originali del Medioevo e del Rinascimento, oltre a 400 calchi francesi e italiani. A completare questa collezione vi è una serie non meno magistrale di copie dipinte di capolavori della pittura italiana.
Oggi, al centro della creazione artistica della Scuola, la Cappella ospita mostre, concerti, performance e allestimenti.
Le visite guidate vi condurranno anche nel cortile del gelso, nel cortile d’onore, nel Palazzo degli Studi con il suo cortile vetrato e il suo anfiteatro d’onore.
