Overlooking the bay of Nice, the garden was created in 1983 on a steep slope of 3.5 ha, near the mouth of the Var. It presents the reconstitution of ecosystems in Mediterranean geographical areas where the flora of the five continents flourishes; a journey that leads notably from Greece to Macronesia, from Australia to California or to Mexico and Africa. This great botanical diversity is enriched by systematic collections, including those of agaves and sauges approved as national collections by the Conservatoire des collections végétales spécialisées. In an ethnobotanical approach, plants useful to humans, with medicinal, poisonous, aromatic, culinary properties... are also united, not far from the waterfall and shaded arbours of climbers.
