How to approach colonial history and its legacy? Betty Tchomanga, through the prism of the body and a singular story, brings us with #Dalila a powerful tale performed by the Franco-Algerian singer and actress Dalila Khatir.
With this choreographic series, whose solo #Mulunesh was presented at the festival last year, Betty Tchomanga pursues a work around narratives and stories that connect the West and Africa. From the child to the grandmother, from the raï singer Cheikha Rimitti to the Venus hottentote to the Iranian revolutionary women, this solo summons by body and voice figures of women "out of frame". The body and face veil and reveal themselves, thus allowing a parade of masks to emerge. In a kind of puppet theater consisting only of a table, a chair, a lamp and a video projector Histoire(s) Décoloniale(s)#Dalila oscillates between interrogation, intimate confession and life story.
