On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Museum of Mine and Potash offers an exceptional guided tour to discover an old well in the Alsatian potassium basin.
Echoing the exhibition 'Les puits disparus de Thomas Ermel', this visit invites the public to explore a heritage that is today almost invisible. Along a route linking the Joseph-Else tile, its slag heap and the old Amélie I well, participants will learn to read the traces left by a century of mining.
The tour will be animated with two voices. A former miner will share his experience, his memories and his view of these places he has known in activity. Alongside him, a DREAL engineer will provide technical insights into the post-mining process, the monitoring of old wells, residual risks, and the measures implemented to ensure the safety of these sites.
Between memory, heritage and landscape, this walk offers an original approach to the history of the potash basin. An opportunity to discover how a territory continues to tell its past, even when the infrastructure has disappeared.

Old(Former) cloakroom(changing room) of the appearances(mines) of potash of Alsace with the last "still visible(obvious) Room of the Hanging". Report(Memory) of the history(story) of the exploitation(operation) of the appearances(mines) of potash of Alsace, evidence of minors(miners). Mineralogical collection presenting 100 years of geological researches(searches) with 5000 samples of saline and potassium rocks of the whole world resulting of 100 years from researches(searches), polls(soundings) and drillings of the geological service(department) of the appearances(mines) of potash of Alsace.
