For more than 80 years, the blockhouses of the Maginot line are a part of the landscape of Alsace of the North. Major Site of the defensive line and was built between 1930 and 1935, Four-à-Chaux of Lembach is a big work of mountain of a 26 hectare area. He(It) counts about 5 km of underground galleries and possesses feature to be equipped with an inclined plane. Perfectly kept(preserved), this work still contains numerous equipments of time(period): barracks where lived 580 men(people), cookings(kitchens), dormitories, hospital, districts of the officers and central headquarter, room of engines and blocks of fight with turret of artillery. The site also includes a multi-purpose(versatile) room and a museum.
