Children’s library built in 1965 by the workshop of Montrouge (the architects Jean Renaudie, Pierre Riboulet, Gérard Thurnauer and Jean-Louis Veret) for the association "La Joie par les Livres". Located in the heart of a HLM city dating from 1952, the structure of the library is an imbrication of nine concrete cylinders of different sizes. This achievement had a great influence in the world of libraries. The interior furniture is due to the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The building, currently closed to the public, is the subject of a major restoration project involving the services of the Territoire Vallée Sud – Grand Paris, the regional Conservation des monuments historiques and La Petite Bibliothèque Ronde. Meanwhile, the association continues to welcome the public and offer reading moments and mediations in its temporary branch at 3 Rue de Bretagne.
