Vernissage der Ausstellung "Ici grand Ouverée" von SMITH.
Als 1985 geborener Forscher navigiert SMITH zwischen Fotografie, animiertem Bild, Installation, Skulptur und Performance. Seine Arbeit ist in offenen Zyklen organisiert, die oft mit der Fotografie beginnen. Er überwindet alle Chronologie, verschiebt die Grenzen von Porträt und Landschaft und öffnet einen Raum, in dem sich das Reich von Mensch, Tier, Pflanze, Mineral und Himmlisch verflechten. Sein Werk wird von einer Poetik der Metamorphose durchdrungen, die über das einzige Register des Realen hinausgeht, die Räume zwischen zwei durchzieht, die Schwellen und nicht die Gewissheiten bewohnt. Formen gleiten, Identitäten bewegen sich, Körper verändern sich, Wahrnehmung verändert sich. Von schwankenden Bewusstseinszuständen, von Trance bis Psychedelika, webt SMITH ein Netzwerk von Übereinstimmungen zwischen körperlichen und kognitiven Praktiken und experimentellen wissenschaftlichen und technologischen Geräten auf der Suche nach einem Berührungspunkt, an dem Spiritualität, Sensibilität und Technik zusammenkommen.

Opening of the exhibition "ICI grand Ouverture" by SMITH.
Artist and researcher born in 1985, SMITH navigates between photography, animated images, installation, sculpture and performance. His work is organized in open cycles, often initiated by photography. He unravels all chronology, shifts the boundaries of portrait and landscape and opens a space where human, animal, plant, mineral and celestial kingdoms intertwine. His work is traversed by a poetics of metamorphosis, which goes beyond the only register of reality, traverses the spaces of the in-between, inhabits thresholds rather than certainties. Forms slide, identities move, bodies transform, perception changes regime. From fluctuating states of consciousness, from trance to psychedelics, SMITH weaves a network of correspondences between bodily and cognitive practices and experimental scientific and technological devices, in search of a point of contact where spirituality, sensitivity and technique are recomposed together.

Artista e ricercatore nato nel 1985, SMITH si sposta tra fotografia, immagini animate, installazione, scultura e performance. Il suo lavoro è organizzato in cicli aperti, spesso iniziati dalla fotografia. Svela tutta la cronologia, sposta i confini del ritratto e del paesaggio e apre uno spazio in cui regni umani, animali, vegetali, minerali e celesti si intrecciano. Il suo lavoro è attraversato da una poetica di metamorfosi, che va oltre l'unico registro della realtà, attraversa gli spazi del mezzo, abita soglie piuttosto che certezze. Le forme scorrono, le identità si muovono, i corpi si trasformano, la percezione cambia il regime. Dagli stati fluttuanti della coscienza, dalla trance alla psichedelica, SMITH intreccia una rete di corrispondenze tra pratiche corporee e cognitive e dispositivi sperimentali scientifici e tecnologici, alla ricerca di un punto di contatto in cui spiritualità, sensibilità e tecnica vengono ricomposte insieme.

Artiste chercheur né en 1985, SMITH navigue entre photographie, image animée, installation, sculpture et performance. Son travail s’organise en cycles ouverts, souvent amorcés par la photographie. Il y défait toute chronologie, déplace les frontières du portrait et du paysage et ouvre un espace où s’entrelacent les règnes humain, animal, végétal, minéral et céleste. Son œuvre est traversé par une poétique de la métamorphose, qui déborde le seul registre du réel, parcourt les espaces de l’entre deux, habite les seuils plutôt que les certitudes. Les formes glissent, les identités se déplacent, les corps se transforment, la perception change de régime. Depuis des états de conscience fluctuants, de la transe aux psychédéliques, SMITH tisse un réseau de correspondances entre pratiques corporelles et cognitives et dispositifs scientifiques et technologiques expérimentaux, à la recherche d’un point de contact où se recomposent ensemble spiritualité, sensibilité et technique.

Su trabajo se organiza en ciclos abiertos, a menudo iniciados por la fotografía. Desentraña toda la cronología, cambia los límites del retrato y el paisaje y abre un espacio donde los reinos humanos, animales, vegetales, minerales y celestiales se entrelazan. Su obra está atravesada por una poética de la metamorfosis, que va más allá del único registro de la realidad, atraviesa los espacios intermedios, habita umbrales en lugar de certezas. Las formas se deslizan, las identidades se mueven, los cuerpos se transforman, la percepción cambia de régimen. Desde estados fluctuantes de conciencia, desde el trance hasta los psicodélicos, SMITH teje una red de correspondencias entre las prácticas corporales y cognitivas y los dispositivos científicos y tecnológicos experimentales, en busca de un punto de contacto donde la espiritualidad, la sensibilidad y la técnica se recompongan.
