This ceremony will be an opportunity to highlight the history of this emblematic monument of Saint-Leu and to recall its importance in the architectural and historical heritage of Réunion.
The ceremony will be punctuated by readings of texts by authors from Réunion by students from Saint-Leu schools.

La Réunion

Former king’s store, the building was built between 1770 and 1780 to serve as a corn and coffee warehouse. It fits into the historic town centre of Saint-Leu, surrounded by other ancient buildings. From 1834, it became a coaching inn, before being abandoned in the mid-19th century. Classified as a historical monument on September 23, 1987, it will host, after its rehabilitation, an exhibition space as well as a wedding hall. Little modified since its construction, it remains a representative testimony of the architecture of the royal stores of the time.
