Botanical tour and discovery of garden music

Go to the gardens 2023
Domingo 4 junio 2023, 16:00Passed

The Porterie, in a beautiful meadow, bordered by the river, is bordered by 7000 hectares of forest: a paradise for all kinds of animals. They all make themselves heard according to the seasons: during our botanical walk with Alexandra Henrisssat in June, when life explodes everywhere, it’s always a pleasure to listen to birds and identify them, while spotting wild plants.
After the terrible drought of 2022, which showed the bottom of the river without a drop of water, we hope to hear his song, different depending on the depth of the water. And we hope to hear again the fish dives.
When we return to the garden, it’s time to visit our friends the cows: they know us well and give us a sound greeting.
The bull also wants to attract attention: he drums the ground with his hooves in crazy races in the middle of the herd.
Finally, it’s time for the frogs: having not heard them for two years, we will be very attentive to their presence and their number, spottable in the power of their croaking.
In the meantime, the children criss-cross the gravel with the rake to make drawings.
Before leaving, it will be the "cling" of glasses, before tasting syrup and lemonade made from the garden plants. Make vinegar, syrup and lemonade to take home (bring containers).

The "Crete" is a former abbey founded in 1121, second daughter of the Cistercian abbey of Morimond, granddaughter of Cîteaux. The abbey had to be completely rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century. It therefore underwent important architectural changes. After the Revolution, the church and the cloister were destroyed. The porterie (1715-1730) is in itself a characteristic building of the eighteenth century and highlights the charm and serenity of the site, purely Cistercian. It has deteriorated considerably over the past 50 years and is the subject of safeguard work. A rest area has recently been set up for the walker. The pretty bridge over the Rognon, facing the gate, is from the eighteenth century (the gate and the bridge are classified as Historical Monuments).
The Garden of Hildegard is located towards the clearing, at the rear of the abbey.
