Museum in the centre of the village of Faverolles Les vestiges of the Gallo-Roman mausoleum of Faverolles establish(constitute) an exceptional archaeological evidence. At the beginning of Empire (1st century), social high-ranking Lingon be built on its rural domain and next to of a Roman way from Langres, a sumptuous grave, top of more than 20 metres. The remarkable sculptures discovered during archaeological excavations(searches) are exposed(explained) around a big(great) model, in the workshop(studio)-museum located at the heart of the village, bas-relief of weapons, columns, capitals(big tops), cornices in modillons and boxes of this whole decoration(set) had to promote the deceased and assert(affirm) its victory on the death.
Archaeological Site in forest: vestiges of the mausoleum of Faverolles. (all year in free access) Located in forest, outside the village, the archaeological site where were discovered the vestiges of the mausoleum of Faverolles, offers a pleasant walk between history(story) and nature. On 2 km, the shady nature trail distils explicative panels(signs), which allow to the walker to imagine the aspect of this hill here am more than 2000 years, when the sumptuous Gallo-Roman mausoleum amounted proudly to its summit.
