Exhibition: Augustin Rouart in his world, with Julie Manet, Berthe Morisot, Maurice Denis...
The exhibition aims to show, first of all, the artists who composed this world in which Augustin Rouart grew up and trained. We find some of the great figures of Impressionism, such as the literary or musical world of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century: Henri Rouart, Henry Lerolle, Berthe Morisot, Maurice Denis, Julie Manet… Secondly, the exhibition shows the original work that Augustin Rouart was able to develop during his career, how he came to this joyful and happy painting. The purpose is also to highlight the variety of his artistic work, both in painting and through his ceramic creations. Finally, the exhibition is an opportunity to unveil a much more personal work: in letters addressed to his son – Jean-Marie Rouart, of the Académie française – he tells by drawing the adventures of Nounourse, a sort of comic strip in serials.
