Created in April, 1757, the Research firm of sciences and arts of the City of Metz gives protector for founding and, in 1759, the marshal duke of Belle-Isle, governor of Three - Bishop's palaces. In July, 1760, the king Louis XV grants him(her,it) by letters patent the status of Academy(Regional education authority), with the title of royal Company(Society) of sciences and of arts. Its competitions have a big(great) impact: prize-winners Maximilian de Robespierre in 1784, the abbot Gregory in 1787 will be. Deleted(Eliminated), as all her similar, in August, 1793 by Convention(Agreement), she comes back to life in 1819 in the form of an academic Company(Society) of letters, sciences and arts. By order of September 5th, 1828, Charles X grants her the title of royal Academy(Regional education authority) and recognises her as establishment of public utility. The Academy(Regional education authority) possesses a rich library(bookcase) welcoming students and researchers. The Academy(Regional education authority) publishes its works in "Reports", in annual publication. She(It) also assures(insures) since 1970 preparation and distribution(broadcasting) of the «of Lorraine Bibliography» which takes a census of all written productions concerning the Lorraine, since the invention of the printing. The Academy(Regional education authority) is a member of the National Conference of Academy of Science, letters and arts, under the aegis of the Institute of France.
