The collection of the Frac Lorraine, composed of 1,295 works, constitutes a real space for reflection and experimentation, open to performance (Esther Ferrer), dance (La Ribot) or cinema (Marguerite Duras). The works, often acquired in the form of protocols, build links with space (Ann Veronica Janssens) and architecture (Jeppe Hein), question exhibition methods (Dora Garcia), reinvent the spaces that contain them (Monica Bonsate). Productions most often declined in the feminine, they try to interfere and question the prefabricated places in the masculine, especially public space (Tania Mouraud). The FRAC Lorraine weaves a privileged relationship with writing and offers residencies. He regularly invites art critics, art historians, philosophers, writers... to take a specific look at his collection. This initiative allows to stimulate and encourage the development of a thought on contemporary art.
