Organized by the Geneva Section of the Touring Club Switzerland, this cultural walk invites you to explore the foundational sites of International Geneva through a guided pedestrian tour.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM, you will journey from Parc Ariana to the Botanical Garden, passing by major international institutions. This excursion will highlight the historical and geopolitical evolution of Geneva's role, from the establishment of the European headquarters of the United Nations to the presence of key specialized agencies.
Through historical landmarks in parks and official buildings, participants will gain insights into how the city has established itself as a platform for global dialogue and cooperation. The walk will conclude with an aperitif by the lake, offering a moment for reflection and exchange.
This activity is open to all individuals interested in contemporary history and the international significance of Geneva. Advance registration is required.

Organisée par la Section genevoise du Touring Club Suisse, cette promenade culturelle vous invite à explorer les lieux fondateurs de la Genève internationale, au fil d’un parcours pédestre commenté.
Le mercredi 21 mai 2025, entre 17h15 et 19h30, vous cheminerez depuis le parc Ariana jusqu’au jardin botanique en passant par les grandes institutions internationales. Cette sortie mettra en lumière l’évolution historique et géopolitique du rôle de Genève depuis la création du siège européen des Nations Unies jusqu’à l’implantation des principales agences spécialisées.
À travers des repères historiques dans les parcs et les bâtiments officiels, les participantes et participants seront invité·es à comprendre comment la ville s’est affirmée comme plateforme de dialogue et de coopération mondiale. Un apéritif au bord du lac clôturera ce moment de découverte et d’échange.
L’activité est ouverte à toutes et tous, sur inscription. Elle est idéale pour toute personne curieuse de mieux connaître l’histoire contemporaine de Genève.
