As part of the temporary exhibition "Environmental Injustice - Indigenous Peoples' Alternatives", which runs until 21 August 2022, the Sunday film is back in action! Animated films dealing with the climate emergency and the impact of environmental change will be shown throughout the exhibition.
Japan, 15th century. Once protected by giant animals, the forest is being depopulated by man. Wounded by a boar driven mad by demons, the young warrior Ashitaka leaves his family and goes in search of the black god who alone can undo the spell that is gangrenous to his arm. During his journey, Ashitaka meets Lady Eboshi, head of a community of blacksmiths, who must defend herself against those who accuse her of destroying the forest to feed her forges. Among her worst enemies is San, a wild girl raised by wolves, also known as "Princess Mononoke", the princess of spectres...
The principle of reciprocity between humans and the living world is essential in this film, which features different characters and entities, all with their own responsibility. Ashitaka and Mononoke represent the harmony between the world of humans and that of the forest. This film illustrates the importance of this balance and the devastation caused when this link is broken. All these elements are addressed in the exhibition "Environmental Injustice - Indigenous Peoples' Alternatives".

Dans le cadre de l’exposition temporaire «Injustice environnementale - Alternatives autochtones», qui se tient jusqu'au 21 août 2022, le ciné-dimanche reprend du service ! Des films d’animation abordant l’urgence climatique et l’impact des changements environnementaux seront projetés tout au long de cette exposition.
Japon, 15e siècle. Jadis protégée par des animaux géants, la forêt se dépeuple à cause de l'homme. Blessé par un sanglier rendu fou par les démons, le jeune guerrier Ashitaka quitte les siens et part à la recherche du dieu-cerf qui seul pourra défaire le sortilège qui lui gangrène le bras. Au cours de son voyage, Ashitaka rencontre Lady Eboshi, à la tête d’une communauté de forgerons, qui doit se défendre contre ceux qui lui reprochent de détruire la forêt pour alimenter ses forges. Parmi ses pires ennemis se trouve San, une jeune fille sauvage élevée par des loups, aussi appelée «Princesse Mononoké», la princesse des spectres...
Le principe de réciprocité entre les humains et le monde vivant est essentiel dans ce film qui met en scène différents personnages et entités ayant tous une responsabilité propre. Ashitaka et Mononoké représentent l’harmonie entre le monde des humains et celui de la forêt. Ce film illustre l’importance de cet équilibre et les ravages occasionnés lorsque ce lien est rompu. Tous ces éléments sont abordés dans l’exposition «Injustice environnementale - Alternatives autochtones».
