Octave Debary presents his latest book, which recounts his encounters with artists of memory (Swaantje Güntzel, Jochen Gerz, Christian Boltanski, etc.), an anthropologist (Philippe Descola), a sociologist (Howard S. Becker), a historian (Pierre Nora) and a writer (Christian Bobin), all of whom are working to turn the world upside down. In discussing their work, the author explains how he has come to view anthropology as an art of encounter. These encounters are as often happy as they are misunderstood.

Octave Debary présente son dernier ouvrage qui parle de ses rencontres avec des artistes de la mémoire (Swaantje Güntzel, Jochen Gerz, Christian Boltanski…), un anthropologue (Philippe Descola), un sociologue (Howard S. Becker), un historien (Pierre Nora) et un écrivain (Christian Bobin) qui, tous, s’emploient à retourner le monde. En abordant leurs travaux, l’auteur raconte comment il est conduit à penser l’anthropologie comme un art de la rencontre. Autant de rencontres heureuses que de malentendus.
