Over de hele wereld zijn er woorden uitgevonden om over de natuur te praten en te proberen er in schoonheid mee te concurreren. Naast het wetenschappelijke aspect, werd een hele woordenschat geboren om levende dingen te benoemen, in detail te vatten en te begrijpen. Het is ook een poging om opgeschorte momenten, gevoelens en sensaties in direct verband met de natuur te beschrijven.
